Cheese Lawg

They could possibly be the most ridiculous, over the top, pointless, self aggrandizing, and just plain ugly collection of human beings ever to join forces.  I could fault these guys all day long for inappropriate use of "the collar" and terrible chin hair.  But, what's the point when you have a name like Cheese Lawg and you are delusional enough to go in public dressed like gay ninjas? Something is either very wrong here or possibly something is just so right.

Genius? Not even.  Creative anomaly among peers? Possibly.  The music Cheese Lawg is making, or attempting to make, does not even make sense but it tells the sob story of twenty-somethings evolving their misguided ambition into old and farty heresy.  Stephen Jacobson yelps out lyrics about fighting with young girls and viking drakkar voyages like some sort of accidental improv session.

There was this game that I used to play with my friends at the grocery store.  The game was to go through the checkout line with the 3 most random items you could think up.  Something like a knife, some lubricant, and baby diapers would usually get an awkward response and some great laughs.  While extremely hilarious this game was pointless.  Cheese Lawg took this fantastic concept and applied it to something that they are trying to pass as progressive music. Look for this clown posse to be well heard in the near future because some moron is pouring funds into this ridiculousness machine.

Anyway, enough fluff, here is a track from the new album, Cut Me, from Cheese Lawg.

 Exposed Lettuce

30 years ago if you were walking down the isle at your local Piggly Wiggly and you ran into Jason Schpedmann filing through the spices you would have thought to yourself, "Allspice? What a generic choice".  In the case for Jason Schpedmann and his gnarly group known as Exposed Lettuce you just might be right in your prejudices towards his spice racking.

While you might want to keep Exposed Lettuce out of your kitchen, you will definitely want to store them in your mind.  This three-piece from Brazil, Indiana is making hot trails across the U.S. of A and soon they'll be burning their way into your stereo.

This track comes from their debut album.  Don't let the wacky guitars throw you.  Hold on through the song and let it pummel you with its greatness.
